Wouldn't grandpa be proud? I am selling stuff on ebay, lookee here.

With all my spare time I went to the bargain bin of a local geektronics store and found several interesting items at clearance rates... all stuff I wouldn't buy myself, but someone out there must have a need for stuff like this. So I took the plunge. Wonder how they will do?

I think damn near anything can be found on ebay, or more generally, for sale on the 'net. I once found some software for my dad that I swear had no chance of being found (his veerrry old PC had crashed and he needed copies of a DOS-based program he had been using for years) and after some snooping did actually find someone who was selling it-- probably the last copy in the world, but still, it was there. Amazing.

But if nothing sells I guess I can always just glue all this stuff together and see if I can get it into some modern-art gallery someplace.

"Cat's on the roof and..." I dropped Penny off at the V-E-T today at 7:30. She is getting teeth-work done, poor little thing. She has FORLS, that problem cats are developing these days wherein some of her teeth are getting reabsorbed back into her jawbone. It hurts them, so she needs the work. Poor little thing.

Felix, her boy, has figured out that she isn't in the house and he doesn't like it one bit! The last and only time he has been apart from his mama is when they were "fixed". He's a mama's boy all right. I have explained to him she is fine and will be back tomorrow. However, he has trouble understanding. :) I don't like the idea of her getting anesthetized myself. She is not as young as she used to be and about 5 lbs. heavier as compared to when she got spayed. I just hope they don't screw up the dosage.

Went to the Lilac Festival today... throngs of people everywhere. These events, it's all about food and drink. If you want any event to be successful, provide food, drink, and bathrooms (or the rough equivalent). Doesn't matter what you are doing, just make sure you have those things. That said, the lilacs were pretty damned beautiful. It was a clear-skyed day, and nice and cool, perfect weather for this kind of thing. I took lots of pics, and here's just one:

Work update: I am now done at the place I was, as of today. I am looking for a new gig but am in no hurry, as it is summer and the weather here is great. I have a memento of my parking experience below. Note it's merely a warning, not an actual ticket, for being parked too far forward in a city garage. This is Rochester.

"Those fat, lazy Americans!", indeed! Just read this will you. So next time someone you know from across the pond harshes on your Yankeeness for its supposed blubbery excess, send them that link and waddle yourself smugly back to your third pizza. Two can play this game!
