Some of you will know I listened to Rush a lot in college. One reason was the amazing writing that their drummer and primary lyricist would come up with. But I forget sometimes what great writing this guy can come up with outside a studio. His latest about heading into the new year is a great piece, so here it is.

Quite unlike me, I went to see a French movie tonight (with English subtitles of course), called La Moustache. It was actually very good, especially as it was rather low-budget (ie, nothing exploding, etc.). I found Emmanuelle Devos quite the babe, too. >)
All I could think was, if I ever really, truly go nuts, it'll be the way the main character (Marc) does in this movie.

I am going to start a new religion. It will have one unequivocal belief: that when you die, you go to Walton's Mountain.

Some of you out there in programmer-geek-land, specifically certain previous coworkers of mine (*cough*, *ahem*, Victor... *cough*, *ahem*) will I am sure relate to this tale, courtesy of the The Daily WTF.
Some commentators wrote that they doubt the authenticity of the story. I don't, not for a moment.

So this is 2007, is it? I am with these people - who needs 2007 when 2006 was so damned interesting?
Back to the old grindstone. I should have orientation for the local ambulance company done in a couple weeks, assuming scheduling works out as planned. Then maybe I'll have some interesting ambulance stories to tell, though how much I can talk about on a blog is pretty limited. But making it through another joyous holiday season is always its own reward. I hope all you folkses out there are doing well as the year kicks off. Any resolutions? I have one: take more naps.
I believe in keeping it real. :)
