Admissions boards face 'grade inflation'
You know, I couldn't get into an ordinary undergrad program at a decent private school today. Most people from my generation who I still know couldn't, either. Or is it that the grades really are getting uber-inflated? But 30 or 40 valedictorians from one school? As I understand it, you're only supposed to mint one, two maybe if there is a tie for wonderfulness... but 30 or 40?
I would be utterly lost, I am sure, if I were in today's high school/pre-college climate. I am quite sure it would drive me insane. >)
Speaking of insanity, the last Sat-AM class for my EMT course was today (had fun, too-- got to play with nifty things like "the jaws of life" and so on). I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Soon I will be taking the practical exam, then the written. It will be nice to put this course to bed and get my week-nights back.
