SNOW. Up to something like 1.5 feet I'd say, by now.

The good news is, it's moving on, though the forecast says we should expect more despite what the "Doppler radar" says.

As I sit here at my PC (I am home-- didn't even try to go into work today), I espy my neighbors laboring to clear their driveway. I have yet to do so, so I have my work cut out for me. The snow seems light and dry-- this is good. These are not particularly strong or young people but they have with two of themselves cleared a larger driveway than mine in about an hour.

It's not the driveways that are the real problem of course, it's the roads. Once cleared, you can leave your driveway, but then what? If you make it to a main drag, you still have the snow and ice and other (idiot) drivers to contend with there. Last night, after my ambulance company meeting, I went and filled up my tank, then did some shopping. I have three days worth of food here, too. Actually, the cats are better-set than I am. They have food to last at least another month. Those cats have it good.

Update: Two hours of shoveling. I swear I must have moved 1000 lbs. of snow (no kidding). I didn't think I still had that much shoveling left in me! :) I haven't shoveled this much snow in at least 20 years, seriously, not even two years ago when we had that March storm that left us snowbound for two days. And get this, it continues-- it is still snowing and shows no sign of let-up until at least tomorrow. In short, I may have a second day off, filled with shoveling, cats, and Chunky soups (thank God for those!). I will be gettin' to bed early tonight, that's for certain.
